Watchdog

Also known as a Watchdog timer, a Watchdog is a hardware device or software application that performs a specific task after a predetermined period of time if a system behaves abnormally. As it applies to computer security, a Watchdog is part of a Spyware program. When the user removes (uninstalls) the unwanted software, the Watchdog reinstalls it the next time the user reboots.
