Pop-up

(AKA: Pop-up Window, Popup, Popup Window)

A Pop-up is a separate browser window that is displayed in the foreground of a user's main browser window. The most frequently incurred Pop-ups are advertisements. However, some processes other than Web browsers can display Pop-ups. These include warnings or alerts within applications.
