Internet Service Provider

(AKA: ISP)

An Internet Service Provider (ISP) is a company or institution that provides a commercial service of direct access and connection to the Internet.

Usually, Internet Service Providers supply an Internet connection through a modem. Other services may include the WWW, e-mail, FTP or disk space storage.

Examples of Internet Service Providers would be Earthlink and AOL.
