Homepage

For a Web user, the personal Homepage is the first Web page that is displayed after starting a Web browser, such as Internet Explorer. The browser is usually preset so that the Homepage is the first page of the browser manufacturer. However, the user can set it to open to any Web site. For example, "http://www.yahoo.com" or "http://earthlink.net" could be Homepages.

For a Web site, the Homepage is the common root URL from which all pages belonging to this site are accessed.
